What to expect + FAQ
The process:
First,
I respond to your inquiry via email and answer any questions you may have. A proposal will be created that includes a questionnaire (this allows me to make sure we vibe well together and I know I can create my own version of your vision), a contract, and an invoice. I require 25% of the total session investment as a non-refundable retainer to protect my busy schedule.
I want to get to know my clients as much as I can to understand the meaning behind wanting these photos done. The more I am able to connect with my clients, the more magic I can create with them.
I will also a send a Pinterest "mood board" for the session that serves as inspiration for what to wear.
then...
I get the privilege of meeting you + photographing you! You'll tell me "I am so awkward about having my picture taken," but will quickly forget about all of this because we're all just having a good time- no pressure. Let me worry about getting the shots I need- I know what I'm doing, toddler tantrums and all. My favorite work has been accomplished through clients who showed up, weren't afraid to be vulnerable, and just let go. My only hope is that years from now when you look at these photos, you remember how authentically good you felt and the love you were surrounded by.
finally.
You will receive a link to your final gallery within 3-4 weeks (6-8 weeks for elopements). I have chosen all the high resolution photos from the session I know you'll love, edited them, and uploaded them to a personalized + private online gallery.
FAQ
What does the session fee include?
A. I do not charge a "sitting" fee or charge per photo, the price is for your entire experience with me. All photos I deem as magic will be edited in your final online gallery. This is usually roughly 40-60 photos for a maternity/family/couples session, 70-250 photos for an adventure session, and 200-400 photos for an elopement.
Do you help us choose a location?
A. Yes! I know of scenic spots all over.
Do you charge for travel?
A. In order to spend more time with my family and allow myself to be open to more sessions, I have decided to focus on southwest Washington locations for sessions (outside of adventure sessions). If a client desires a location further than 30 miles from my home base, let's chat first!
Do you do other types of sessions not advertised?
A. Yes! I absolutely love photographing dogs and also boudoir. I've done branding photos, senior photos, and end of life sessions. Reach out to me if you're looking for a session like this and we can talk individual pricing.
Do you send sneak peeks?
A. I almost always send a few sneak peeks for you to immediately have available within 24 hours. During the summer months, I often get home really late after a shoot so sometimes it can take a little longer.
What about pacific northwest weather?
A. We all know it rains 90% of the year in WA- so I embrace it. I am usually quite booked out, so rescheduled sessions are something I try my best to avoid. My gear is weatherproofed and protected, and I find shooting in the rain to be fun and cathartic- it can definitely deliver more emotion in your photos. If the weather is inclement, we can discuss booking a studio for an added fee or doing an in-home lifestyle session.
